Authorised Capital
Authorised Capital - The amount of share capital that a limited company is permitted to issue. The permitted limit will be stated in the Memorandum of Association, along with the number of shares and their nominal value. The Authorised share capital does not necessarily give indication of the value of a company. A more realistic valuation of a company would be to look at issued capital and reserves, net asset value and profitability.
