Alliance & Leicester offers 'quicker and easier' mortgages
21 April 2004
Alliance & Leicester has replaced its paper-based mortgage application system for intermediaries with a new online process that it claims will be both quicker and easier.
From this week, intermediaries making an application to the building society need only submit a straightforward "customer declaration" document prior to completion, while under the old system they had to combine paper forms with online submissions.
The move will further speed up internet mortgage applications, which have proved immensely popular with intermediaries.
A&L already receives nearly nine out of ten applications via its award-winning internet applications process, and is hoping to persuade more customers with the new system, according to Merhdad Yousefi, head of intermediary mortgages.
"This latest development takes away the need for a paper application saving intermediaries valuable time, and making the application process as simple and straightforward as possible," Mr Yousefi stated.
