Nationwide Building Society has launched a text message service for its current account holders.
FlexAccount customers can now receive monthly or weekly text alerts.
These messages let account holders view their balance and last five transactions.
Jim Willens, Nationwide's retail operations director, said: "Nationwide places great importance on developing innovative new ways to further improve the services we provide to our members."
