Global Finance magazine has ranked HSBC's as the "Best Corporate/Institutional Bank in the UK" internet service in the UK.
In addition, Moneyfacts' latest online business banking comparison survey has shown HSBC to offer "the most extensive online experience of any high street bank".
Banking online allows HSBC customers to perform almost any transaction that is possible at a branch, including viewing transactions and statements, setting up standing orders, and stopping cheques.
"Internet banking forms a cornerstone of HSBC's efforts to respond to the changing needs of 21st century businesses," commented Alan Kier, head of the European arm of HSBC commercial banking.
Mr Kier said that businesses were now moving away from in-branch banking for convenience and that HSBC had recognised this switch towards the internet.
"With 51 per cent of Britain's 1.7 million small to medium-sized enterprises expected to bank direct by 2010, demand for internet banking is clear and we're leading the way," he added. To view online banking options and compare accounts and providers, click here.
