Halifax voted best bank for kids

11 April 2006
High street banking leader Halifax has been voted Best Children's Savings Account provider in the Tommy's Parent Friendly Awards 2006, held at Claridge's Hotel.

The awards ceremony, at which Halifax also won the Most Parent Friendly Bank award, recognises companies that take parent's needs into consideration when creating their products, therefore helping to reduce the everyday stresses of being a parent.

The awards themselves are handed out based on over 500,000 votes cast by parents nationwide.

Peter Jackson, head of banking at Halifax, told of his delight at receiving the award in recognition of the bank's hard work: "We believe it is important to offer great products and services to parents and children so that future generations are financially aware."

"It is a great honour to receive these awards," he continued, "which recognise the efforts by our colleagues to make Halifax branches as welcoming as possible for parents and their children."

Halifax currently offers one of the best rates on the market for a child's saving package, the Children's Regular Saver, which pays ten per cent gross interest per annum on regular deposits of £10 to £100 a month.
