Lloyds TSB customers will now be able to text the bank when they need a new cheque book or paying-in book - instead of having to go to their branch.
Customers simply have to text CHQ for a cheque book or PIB for a paying-in book followed by their sort code and account number to 82332.
They should then receive their new book within four working days.
"Mobile phones have become an integral part of people’s lives and we seem to be using them more and more," said Matthew Timms, internet and ATM director at Lloyds TSB.
"With time at a premium we are sure that this new service will prove popular, helping customers to keep on top of those small tasks like ordering a cheque book which can easily fall by the wayside on a busy day," he added.
Lloyds TSB customers can also receive a mini statement via text once a week.
Customers who want to conduct their financial business from the comfort of their own home should log onto Lloyds TSB's internet banking service and then select 'Text Alerts' to register for free statement alerts.To read more about Banking News, click here.
