Be Broadband shines in customer survey

Customers have spoken out on the quality of service from their broadband providers with some surprising results, as small name brands ranked well above the bigger players in the survey.

The four top providers were Be Broadband, Eclipse, Namesco and Madasafish, while Sky and TalkTalk took the lowest scores across the board from disgruntled customers.

The indicators scrutinised were speed of connection, customer service, billings, reliability and technical support.

While Sky Broadband came bottom in the rankings on technical support, reliability and customer service indicators, Be Broadband topped the charts for reliability, billing and speed.

"Smaller companies place far greater emphasis on customer retention … their customers often enjoy the highest service levels within the industry," moneysupermarket's head of broadband, Jason Lloyd, commented.

Bigger players on the market suffer from a customer service deficit when their persuasive marketing drives thousands of customers to sign up – then "leave before actually getting connected as they are fed up with connection waiting periods running into weeks or months," he added.
