Orange gives away transatlantic flights with mobile phone contracts

06 September 2007
Mobile phone company Orange is offering free return flights to 14 destinations across Europe and the USA for customers when they upgrade or sign up for a new pay monthly Animal Plan worth £30 or more.

The option is open to the first 20,000 customers – both new and existing – who take out 12, 18 or 24 month contracts before September 13.

Among the free return flight destinations are New York, Boston, Madrid and Rome. The offer is exclusive of taxes and surcharges.

Head of communications services at uSwitch.com, Steve Weller, comments: “It’s great news that mobile networks are offering free gifts and unlike the free broadband deals we have seen, customers only need to sign up to a 12-month contract - avoiding being tied to one company for a long period of time.”

Customers should be warned that terms and conditions apply. The promotion is only available through the company’s online shop or call centre and there is limited flexibility with regard to flight times and dates.

It is also worth noting that other companies also offer free gifts and offers with new monthly price plan deals.

uSwitch.com suggests customers think carefully about how and when they use their mobile phone before deciding which price plan, if any, is right for them.
