Abbey recognised for 'five-star' cover

26 January 2006
Changes to one of Abbey's home insurance policies have earned it a top five-star rating by product researchers Defaqto.

Abbey's Peace of Mind home insurance recently added some new features, including up to £1,000 for replacement locks and keys if keys are stolen and up to £5,000 to trace and access water leaks.

The cover will be among four home insurance policies available which combine a five-star rating with the benefits of unlimited sum insured cover.

Increased cover for theft, lost or damaged title deeds and irrecoverable court awards all form part of Abbey's Peace of Mind policy.

"In a market that is very much price-led, it's important that people also consider the value they're getting for their money," said Lloyd Wilson, head of insurance marketing at Abbey.

"Peace of Mind cover is all about giving people high quality cover at a great price. The new features and five-star rating provide the reassurance that our cover does just that."
