Annual travel insurance for the over 50s launched by Saga

27 June 2005
Saga, the insurer against age discrimination, has launched annual travel insurance for travellers aged 50 and over.

Designed to meet the needs of holidaymakers aged over 50 - 9.87 million of whom have taken more than one holiday over the last year, according to Saga - the new annual policy offers excellent protection for those who frequently take trips abroad.

The policy features no upper age limit, 24-hour worldwide telephone access to assistance, and cover for medical expenses up to £10 million, including repatriation.

"Many people don't think about travel insurance for a short break but it's taking a huge risk to travel without it," said Andrew Goodsell, chief executive at Saga, commented.

Policy-holders also benefit from a special advice line providing information on visas, vaccinations, safety, drinking water, and bank opening hours, among other matters.
