Bradford & Bingley issues travel insurance advice

03 February 2005
Bradford & Bingley has issued a warning to couples ahead of Valentine's Day.

The high street lender has warned that many people forget to cover themselves when planning short trips.

Love struck Brits will be heading off to Romantic destinations later this month, but all those brownie points could be lost if you end up facing a huge medical bill.

Nigel Asplin, group general insurance director at Bradford and Bingley, said: "Whilst getting travel cover isn't the most romantic of subjects it is often the aspect that gets overlooked by travellers, especially when it's only a short trip.

"Mishaps, cancelled flights and lost luggage are just as likely on a short break as a longer holiday so it is important that travellers take the proper precautions and organise sufficient cover."
