Churchill: Estate agents have the most car accidents

15 February 2006
Estate agents are making the most claims on their car insurance policies, according to new research.

A new study by Churchill Car Insurance reveals that your job might affect the number of car accidents you have and consequently the number of claims made on car insurance.

Farmers were found to be the safest drivers, making the fewest number of car insurance claims.

This may be due to the fact that they live and work in the country, where there is less congestion and a generally more peaceful pace of life, according to Churchill.

Ambulance drivers also make very few claims compared to estate agents and Churchill says that this is because they are expert drivers.

Darren McCauley, head of car insurance at Churchill, said: "Those who have jobs which involve working outdoors or drive for a living tend to have fewer accidents.

"Estate agents make lots of journeys in their cars during the day – dashing to see clients in the urban areas and often parking wherever they can when they arrive."
