Direct life try to revolutionise the life insurance sector

20 October 2004
The UK's leading independent life insurance broker has rolled out a new product - in an attempt to revolutionise the sector.

Under Direct Life's new system consumers can sign up to "straightforward" life cover and not have to be "experts on their own medical histories".

The product has already been trialled by approximately 9,000 people, leading the company to believe it is ready to be deployed nationwide.

"For the majority of people wanting straightforward life cover the typical questionnaire that all life firms require can be nightmarishly difficult to navigate," said Mike Ward, Direct Life managing director.

"The danger is of course is that crucial information is frequently overlooked and when the policyholder comes to make a claim they find they are refused because the condition in question was not declared on the original form," he added.
