Huge differences found between car insurance premiums

02 August 2005 / by None
A new survey has suggested that shopping around for car insurance is more important than ever, with huge savings to be made by switching policies.

Test Drive magazine found that car insurance premiums still vary, with savings of up to £2,500 up for grabs.

Researchers at the magazine found that after an hour of calling different insurance firms for a price for a 34-year-old driving a Vauxhall Astra, they were given quotes ranging from £3,000 to £433.

Quinn Direct was the cheapest at £433, while Screentrade was the priciest, at £3,092.

Those looking to insure their car, or switch their insurer have been advised to call ten insurance providers, in order to find the best deal.
