No-claims drivers could save hundreds on car insurance

If your car insurance is due for renewal before the end of August and you have made no claims in four years, you could save over £125 by switching to another provider, Insurer Privilege has calculated.

Research by the company projects that around 11 million drivers eligible for a four-year no-claims bonus are throwing money away because they do not make comparisons to find a more competitive deal when renewing their car insurance.

Drivers in the North West have developed good bargaining habits, with 62 per cent researching a better quote each time their motor insurance is due for renewal. If you live in the Midlands, however, take note: you could save yourself £143 by comparing quotes, though 42 per cent say they do not look into it.

Privilege Insurance guarantees to beat any insurance quote for drivers who have made no claims in four years or more. The company's offer has been so popular that it is to be extended until August 31st, representing an unbroken two-year period of beating competitors' quotes.

Cover from Privilege includes a five-year guarantee on repairs, access to repair and courtesy car services from selected companies, a windscreen replacement hotline and emergency assistance.
