Post Office broadens insurance horizons

29 October 2004
The Post Office has once again announced its intentions to move in new directions - this time spreading out into home and contents insurance.

It has said that the new insurance package will be available to 98 per cent of applicants and it further guarantees to save customers up to 40 per cent on their existing premiums.

The Post Office intends to use a panel of 14 insurers to provide a range of products.

The Post Office's head of product development, Claire Oldstein, said: "We believe Post Office Home & Contents Insurance offers real choice and value for money because of our panel approach."

She added: "Most people don't bother to shop around for their home insurance and pay more than they need to."

The new range will be offered alongside its existing loans and car and travel insurance.
