Sainsbury's Bank gains insurance accolade

23 March 2005
Sainsbury's Bank has been named "Most Competitive Term Assurance Provider 2005" by Moneyfacts.

The bank's insurance arm beat off stiff competition from 35 providers and four finalists - Egg, Legal & General, Liverpool Victoria and Tesco Personal Finance - to win the title.

The Moneyfacts insurance team concluded that Sainsbury's Bank had offered the most competitively consistent term assurance product during the last year.

"This award is great news for the bank and recognises the efforts and achievements of everyone that has worked so hard to provide our customers with an excellent product, at a consistently fantastic price," said
Jonathan Hewitt, business development director for Sainsbury's Bank.

Mike Smith of Legal & General, which provides Sainsbury's Bank term assurance policies, added: "We have a strong partnership with the Bank and this award reflects Sainsbury's Bank's determination to deliver a winning proposition for their customers."
