20 January 2006
Tesco Pet Insurance is giving animal lovers extra ways to protect their furry friends by launching a new insurance product.

Pet Insurance Extra ensures that pets requiring treatment for more than a year will have their veterinary bills covered for an unlimited period up to the value of £4,000 for each condition.

This new products complements the already-existing Standard Cover, which offers £2,500 per condition for a maximum 12-month period.

"We have listened to the veterinary profession and our customers to develop a choice of insurance that meets the needs of pet owners," said Allan Burns, head of Tesco Pet Insurance.

He added: "We believe we are offering the right level of cover at the right price."

In celebration of the launch of the new cover level, Tesco Pet Insurance is giving away 1,000 clubcard points with all the policies taken out before Valentine's Day.
