Friends Provident extends Investment Portfolio Bond

07 February 2005
An extra 15 "best of breed" funds have been added to the Friends Provident Investment Portfolio Bond.

The new funds - from Artemis, Invesco Perpetual, New Star, First State and Merrill Lynch - cover asset types from UK equity to emerging markets or fixed income, to create the "essential building blocks" for diversified portfolio construction, Friends Provident said.

"With the importance of asset allocation in the advice process ever increasing, we have aimed to complement our existing range with further high quality funds," said Ian Jefferies, head of investment marketing at Friends Provident.

"We believe we now have one of the most highly rated fund menus available in the onshore investment bond marketplace.

"But also importantly, as they are offered on a 'best of breed' basis, this focused range is a more manageable proposition for IFAs."
