Scottish Life launches seventh anniversary bond

08 July 2004
Scottish Life International is celebrating the seventh anniversary of its flagship protected funds range by launching the Select safe combination bond.

Scottish Life International's Protected Deposit Bonus funds have performed strongly, despite recent fluctuations in the stock market.

The Protected Deposit Bonus 95 fund has delivered growth of 67.7 per cent over the seven years since its inception, while the Protected Deposit Bonus 100 fund, which protects 100 per cent of capital, achieved growth of 39.6 per cent.

To celebrate its anniversary, Scottish Life International is simplifying access to the two funds by using the Select safe combination bond structure. The bond offers 100 per cent capital protection, after the initial charge, and potential stock market growth with “simplicity, flexibility and control”.

Douglas Law, a Scottish Life spokesman said: “When you consider the fact that the FTSE 100 is basically in the same position as it was seven years ago, the performance of these funds is quite remarkable.”

“The beauty of our Protected Deposit Bonus funds is that they perform in a sideways market, which you can argue, we are currently experiencing.”
