Abbey launches new mortgage range

20 April 2005
Abbey has launched a new range of mortgages designed to meet the needs of householders looking to borrow over the short, medium or long-term, and those looking to remortgage.

For customers applying for a mortgage in branches or by telephone, arrangement fees have been slashed by £100 for a two year fixed rate mortgage at 5.24 per cent, a two year tracker rate mortgage at 4.79 per cent and the Flexible Plus 'Deal for Life' mortgage at 5.24 per cent.

Two six-month fixed rate mortgages from 4.79 per cent have been introduced carrying no early repayment charge, and the arrangement fee can be added to the loan.

Almost a third of the 23 mortgages on offer are also available to those looking to remortgage.

"Our new range has been designed for people who want a competitive deal whether it's over the short, medium or long term," said Gary Hockey-Morley, Abbey's director of Mortgages.

"With increasing demand from people looking for fixed rates, our range offers some of the best deals on the high street."

Two of the mortgages also offer free valuation for mortgage purposes and free legal fees or £250 cashback on completion.
