Alliance & Leicester is adding two new products to its repertoire this week, including a new range of two and five-year fixed rate mortgages and a deal for those who want to move mortgages for free.
According to the bank, its rate of 4.19 per cent on its fixed rate mortgages is highly competitive and ideal for those looking for a low-rate mortgage when their current fixed rate deal ends.
Director of mortgages at Alliance and Leicester, Stephen Leonard, said: "With fixed rates continuing to be extremely popular, we’ve responded to customer demand and improved our rates further.
"Our range of mortgages are simple and straightforward, offering borrowers highly competitive rates and the choice of moving their mortgage for free by opting for one of our FeeSaver mortgages. These deals particularly appeal to first time buyers and remortgagers who want to avoid any up-front costs."
The Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) has reported a boom remortgaging in August, pushing mortgage-lending to its highest level since July 2004.
Remortgaging experienced the largest increase, rising 15 per cent since July, making it the highest level since October 2003.To read more about Mortgages, click here.
