Yorkshire Building Society lowers fixed rate mortgage rates

04 July 2005
Yorkshire Building Society (YBS) has reviewed its mortgage range, reducing its rates for fixed rate deals.

The range, available from July 6th, now includes a ten year fixed rate deal at just 4.74 per cent.

Two year fixed rate deals carry a rate of 4.44 per cent, whilst five year deals rise to 4.54 per cent or 4.99 per cent with no arrangement fee, and ten year deals carry rates of 4.74 per cent.

"It's a very exciting time in the mortgage market, funding rates over the last month have been up and down like a rollercoaster ride," said David Heshon, mortgage development manager at YBS.

"We are delighted that we have been able to secure funds when they dipped, passing the great rates on to our borrowers."

All YBS mortgages offer borrowers daily interest, full portability, overpayments of up to ten per cent of capital each year without charge, and no compulsory insurances.
