Transport and General Workers Union comment on Government action on pensions

02 March 2004
The Transport and General Workers Union has commented as MPs prepare to debate the second reading of the government's Pensions Bill, by saying that whilst ministers have made a promising start to tackling the pensions crisis they must address the 'Great Pensions Robbery'.

Its General Secretary, Tony Woodley, continued: 'What we want to see is robust legislation in this Pensions Bill and rulings from our courts which deliver justice for people who have worked hard for their retirement. The T&G will keep fighting back for our members and their future.'
