Council of Mortgage Lenders reports on latest house price data

05 February 2004
The Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) has reported that the latest house price data for January provides 'mixed signals' as to the direction of house price growth.

It predicted that underlying growth would continue in the 15-16 per cent range, and it expects the overall trend this year to be one of moderating growth, with interest rates rising to 4.5 per cent by the end of the year.
