Business Banking Charges
Business Banking Charges
Business banking charges are implemented by your bank if your business breaks the agreed terms and conditions of your account; for example, if you exceed your overdraft limit or you do not have enough funds in your account to cover direct debits. These charges have recently been deemed unlawful as they tend to be disproportionate to the cost of damage to the bank and many major banks are making large profits from them.
Many businesses are claiming back unfair charges made by their bank. Claims can be made independently, but tend to take a lot of time and effort, so a number of separate companies have been set up in order to deal with claims on your behalf. There are several advantages to making a claim through an independent company:
- Save time and money as most companies do everything on your behalf on a no win-no fee basis.
- Your case can be fast tracked as many companies have special agreements with the banks involved and so can settle the case privately.
- If necessary; advice and representation in court as well as underwriting any necessary fees.
