Compare ISA Interest Rates
Before deciding which ISA (Individual Savings Account) to go with, it is important to compare ISA interest rates. This can ensure that you get the best account for your requirements. An ISA allows you to invest your money without incurring tax on it or on the interest it generates.
There are two types of ISA available:
Stocks and Shares ISA:
-
Can invest up to £7,200 (your yearly tax free allowance) per year
-
Must be aged 18 or over
-
Can be held alongside a Cash ISA, but if you have money in a Cash ISA (up to £3,600) you may only invest the remainder of the £7,200 limit into your Stocks and Shares ISA.
Cash ISA
-
Can invest up to £3,600 a year
-
Must be aged 16 or over
-
For people aged 18 or over, a Cash ISA can be held alongside a Stocks and Shares ISA; you can invest up to £3,600 of your £7,200 tax free allowance into the Cash ISA and the rest into a Stocks and Shares ISA
Interest rates and restrictions vary from one account to another, so shop around and compare ISA interest rates using the table below to find the best one for you.

Investment ISAs are designed as medium to long term investments, for example at least five years.
The value of your investment and the level of any income received from it can fall as well as rise and is not guaranteed and you may not get back the amount of your original investment.
The tax efficiency of ISAs is based on current tax law and there is no guarantee that tax rules will stay the same in the future.
If you choose an index-tracking trust which invests overseas, exchange rate variations may cause the value of your investment to increase or decrease.
If you unsure what Investment ISA plan is right for you speak to an independent investment adviser.
