The Council of Mortgage Lenders is an industry trade body which, through its members, accounts for 98 per cent of UK residential mortgage lending. It provides:

The Council of Mortgage Lenders is also the acting as a representative on behalf of the industry.
Among its members – of which there are more than 160 – are a range of banks, building societies and other mortgage providers. It has more than 100 associates ranging from those in related industries, management consultants, legal professionals and search firms.
CML members are given access to the association's team of policy and research experts and are also able to view the member-only sections of its websites. Other benefits include a copy of the weekly e-newsletter and access to the online library.
