With 16 Olympic Gold medals in Beijing, Great Britain is now third in the medal table, trailing only behind the host nation China, and the USA, and it is cycling we have to thank for almost half the medals.
The first came early on, when Nicole Cooke became the road race champion and yesterday, Victoria Pendleton won the women's sprint final and Chris Hoy took his third Gold of the Games, which gave Britain an incredible haul of eight golds from a possible 14 in track and road cycling in Beijing. more
