Mobile firms work together
18/12/2007

Mobile phone networks T-Mobile and 3 have announced a deal to work together and will be pooling their mobile phone mast infrastructure to offer high-speed wireless broadband services to more areas of the country.
The deal should mean that almost the entire UK population is covered by 3G services by the end of 2008.
Though the companies will share 3G service infrastructure, 2G services will remain separate.
T-Mobile owners Deutsche Telekom and 3's parent company Hutchison Whampoa said they expect to save £2 billion over the next ten years through the deal.
3G services allow internet browsing, video conferences and music downloads.
