The Nokia 2690 provides all the basics in a stylish two-tone monoblock design. Email access through the WAP/xHTML mobile Internet browser keeps you connected along with SMS and MMS messaging. The 1.8 inch screen has 128x160 pixels, a relatively low resolution but clear nonetheless. Travellers can make use of extensive international coverage with quad-band roaming whilst further connectivity options include wireless Bluetooth for data transfer between friends and connecting a wireless headset. Music can be enjoyed on the MP3 player or via the FM stereo radio and a 3.5mm audio jack has been provided for connecting headphones.

The VGA camera can also capture video footage at 15fps and the memory can be expanded to 8GB with a microSD card. The Nokia 2690 is compact and weighs only 81g.
