When you get a new pay as you go Virgin mobile, you will either have to pay for the phone, in which case the sim card will be free, or you will pay a nominal amount for the card – or you might even get a free bring sim card – but you will need to use your existing phone.
When you sign up for a monthly contract with Virgin, free Virgin sim cards are always included.
Often, if you get free Virgin sim cards, or cheap virgin sim cards, it is because Virgin wants you to join their network, because when you do need to top up your phone, you will have to do it through Virgin. In order to get people to join the Virgin network, you may get a free virgin sim card along with some other benefits, such as:
- Free calls
- Free text messaging
- Cheap calls to selected numbers
These deals may come with conditions – such as a minimum top up each month – but if you don’t use your phone much, could be the right deal for you. Make sure you compare pay as you go and tariff deal with a number of different networks before you decide which one to go for.
