Greek Mortgages
Greek Mortgages
If you require finance to purchase a property in Greece, mortgages can be arranged either in the UK or in Greece. Non-status and self-certification mortgage facilities are not available in Greece, but you will be permitted to rent out your property. You will need to produce the following documentation in order to be considered for a Greek Mortgage:
- Employed applicants need to provide proof of income in the form of your last three months payslips, a P60 form or employers' reference and your last 6 months personal bank statements
- Self-employed applicants will need copies of Audited Accounts for the last 12 months business, and 6 months' personal bank statements
It is worth remembering that Greek mortgage lenders will not take into account any proposed rental income from the property that you wish to buy so any loan awarded is based on your 'net' pay, which cannot exceed 35% of your net monthly income.
YOUR HOME MAY BE REPOSSESSED IF YOU DO NOT KEEP UP REPAYMENTS ON YOUR MORTGAGE. CHANGES IN THE EXCHANGE RATE MAY INCREASE THE STERLING EQUIVALENT OF YOUR DEBT.
