To find the best high interest ISA and one that suits your requirements, it is important to compare a number of deals and make an informed decision. ISAs are Individual Savings Accounts that allow you to save money and accrue interest without paying tax. They vary greatly in interest rate and what they offer, such as:

  • Tiered interest – the more you invest, the more you get back
  • How you invest it – cash, stocks and shares or a combination of both
  • Fixed terms – usually 1- 4 years
  • How much you wish to invest – £1 - £7,200 (Up £7,200 in stocks and shares, or up to £3,600 in cash and the rest in stocks and shares)
  • Interest penalties for making withdrawals: You may be encouraged to leave your money to grow

Please bear in mind that:
Investment ISAs are designed as medium to long term investments, for example at least five years.
The value of your investment and the level of any income received from it can fall as well as rise and is not guaranteed and you may not get back the amount of your original investment.
The tax efficiency of ISAs is based on current tax law and there is no guarantee that tax rules will stay the same in the future.
If you choose an index-tracking trust which invests overseas, exchange rate variations may cause the value of your investment to increase or decrease.
If you unsure what Investment ISA plan is  right for you speak to an independent investment adviser.
