Insolvency practitioners are appointed by official insolvency receivers if you have assets equalling a considerable amount. They are put in place to:

Preserve and recover assets for creditors
Advise those threatened by or subject to insolvency
Help families of those individuals affected by bankruptcy to save the family home and other assets
