NS&I launches savings certificate value calculator
27/06/2006

National Savings and Investment (NS&I) has given its customers a helping hand to track the value of their savings certificates by unveiling a new online calculator.
The calculator is a replacement for the outdated cash value tables, published monthly, that would tell holders of a certificate approximately how much their initial investment was now worth.
The certificates are inflation-beating investments that offer tax-free returns over set periods of three or five years.
"By tracking RPI (the Retail Price Index) and paying fixed rates of interest on top, inflation-beating savings guarantee your money grows in real terms," said Peter Cornish, marketing director at NS&I.
"Making life easier for customers is important to NS&I - that is why we have designed this calculator as a quick way for customers to track growth and monitor their savings."
The calculator can be accessed
