ISA Investment Fund
ISA Investment Fund
An investment ISA is a tax efficient account that can invest in a number of different forms of investment, with examples including:
- Individual shares in companies
- Index Tracker Funds aiming to replicate the performance of a particular index
- Actively managed funds
- Fixed interest securities such as corporate bonds and gilts
The actual types of investments held within the ISA can by managed either through the fund management company with whom the ISA has been effected or in some cases, yourself. It’s possible to invest up to £7,200 per tax year, with a wide range of banks, building societies and investment companies offering products in this area.
When making an investment, either with an ISA investment fund or otherwise, it’s important to assess both the risk you want to expose yourself to and what return you are looking to gain on your capital. Both of those will help in choosing what investment options to pursue.

Please bear in mind that:
Investment ISAs are designed as medium to long term investments, for example at least five years.
The value of your investment and the level of any income received from it can fall as well as rise and is not guaranteed and you may not get back the amount of your original investment.
The tax efficiency of ISAs is based on current tax law and there is no guarantee that tax rules will stay the same in the future.
If you choose an index-tracking trust which invests overseas, exchange rate variations may cause the value of your investment to increase or decrease.
If you unsure what Investment ISA plan is right for you speak to an independent investment adviser.
