Individual voluntary arrangement or IVA providers must have a license enabling them to be a legal insolvency practitioner. An IVA cannot be completed without fully licensed IVA providers who will set the IVA up and make sure everything is legal and by the book. It is the IVA providers who will do the negotiating and come to an arrangement with credit6ors over how much debt should be paid back and when. IVA providers should support and advise you and are normally solicitors with a licence that allows them to:

  • Act as supervisors of IVA's
  • Act as administrators
  • Act as administrative receivers or liquidators for a limited company
  • Act as receivers

The solvency practitioner licence is granted to IVA providers from the Government. You can not go through an IVA by yourself; it is only possible with the help of IVA providers who are licensed insolvency practitioners.
