Charcol sees buy to let mortgage boom

3.3 million people in the UK are thinking about taking out a buy to let mortgage, according to mortgage provider Charcol.
This figure represents seven per cent of the country's adult population.
But the enthusiasm for the buy-to-let market does not stop there.
Charcol also found that two our of every three existing landlords wants to be in the letting market in ten years time.
Charcol's senior technical manager Ray Boulger commented: "There's been plenty of speculation about jitters in the buy to let sector, but a convergence of socio-economic factors suggests strong prospects over the next decade.
"The reasons for the recent yield dip are clear, but as base rate peaks, the housing market steadies and rents edge up, landlords will enjoy healthier returns."
