No Fee Credit Card
No Fee Credit Card
With so many offers on the market these days, most providers offer a no fee credit card that will not charge you an annual fee. It also used to be possible to get a balance transfer no fee credit card, but lenders have now started implementing a small transfer fee for the privilege of the interest free period. However, you should check the terms of the agreement to ensure you won’t be charged more for something else in replacement of the fee.
Things to consider when looking for a no fee credit card include:
- Are they recouping the fee elsewhere? E.g. in the interest rate.
- Will you be charged more for defaulting on payment or going over your limit?
- Is there an interest free balance transfer period and what is the fee? (They’re usually about 2-2.5%)
- Will you receive a 0% interest period on purchases or is that forsaken for the no annual fee?
