Legal & General extends personal pension portfolio

Legal & General (L&G) swelled its portfolio of personal pension products and now offers 59 individual pension products.
From the end of last month the has firm added 20 new pension investment funds for personal pension, group personal pension and self invested pension plan customers.
L&G's Tony Bilbin said: "These changes demonstrate our commitment to this increasingly important market, in which the need to provide greater investment choice is a core requirement.
"The range of funds has been specially chosen to meet the risk profiles and investment aims of our personal pension customers," he added.
Meanwhile, speculation about a possible bid for L&G from UK pensions rival Prudential continues. Trading in L&G shares yesterday took place at levels four per cent higher than average on the news.
