Personal Banking
Personal Banking
Personal banking covers all financial products and services available to individual people, rather than business. Most banks’ and building societies’ personal banking services include:
- Day to day banking – current accounts, credit cards
- Savings and Investment – high interest accounts, ISAs, child savings, bonds, share dealing
- Borrowing – mortgages, loans, overdrafts
- Insurance – car, home, life, pet, travel
- Student – insurance, overdrafts, loans
Most personal banking services now also include direct banking via telephone and the internet. With direct banking, you can do all the following without having to go into a branch:
- Check statements and get an up to date balance
- Transfer money between accounts
- Pay bills, set up direct debits and standing orders
- Apply for new products
- Change payments on mortgages and loans
