The Role - Short Term Contract (6 Months)

Working closely with a director you will:
  • Research and write high quality, unique and relevant financial content including news, features and copy;
  • Contribute to and assist in the production of regular newsletters and in-house magazines;
  • Meet daily content deadlines;
  • Interview industry experts and spokespeople;
  • Attend industry events when required;
  • Help keep the content on the site fresh, accurate and up-to-date, including updating comparison tables and other data;
  • Become an expert in the finance field, particularly in savings, investments and pensions;
  • Work with the marketing and editorial team to ensure the content produced is contributing to the success of the company.
Essential Skills Required

  • Excellent writing skills and a keen eye for detail;
  • A keen interest in finance and a view to becoming an expert in the field;
  • A relevant degree (e.g. English/Journalism), with strong communication skills;
  • Excellent I.T skills and ability to pick up technical systems quickly;
  • Some relevant work experience;
  • Experience of using the web to source material for daily and long term editorial projects;
  • The ability to thrive under pressure and in a fast paced working environment;
  • A positive, can-do attitude and approach;
  • A demonstrable understanding of what makes good online content;
  • Self motivated and able to take the initiative on projects;
  • A good team player, working well within your own team and alongside other departments within the company;
  • Creatively minded and able to contribute ideas on current and future editorial content.
Desirable Skills Required

  • Journalism training;
  • A working knowledge of the UK financial sector - particularly savings and investments;
  • A working knowledge of html;
  • A working knowledge of SEO;
  • Experience of using content management systems.

Salary: £14,000 pa (pro rata)

A long term contract may be awarded at the end of the contract depending on performance.
