Student Grants
There are several forms of student grants available:

Grant for Maintanance - the government are now providing new students with a maintenance grant of up to £2,700 per year, depending on household income. If you and your household have an annual income of less than £17,500, you will receive the full grant. Incomes of between £17,500 and £30,000 will be awarded partial grants. The non-repayable grant is administered in 3 annual instalments at the beginning of each term.

Grant for Tuition Fees - available to students from low-income families. Below £23,100 - Full grant (no fees to pay); Between £23,100 and £34,310 – Some grant (you will have to pay some of your fees) Above £34,310 – No grant
If you are eligible for a maintenance grant, up to £1,500 of it will be paid in substitution of the student loan for maintenance, which is also available.
