In all cases there are several prerequisites before you will be given a Swiss mortgage in principle. They include:
- Repayment only mortgages
- Minimum borrowing amount of £150,000 however there is no maximum but it must not exceed 80% of valuation or purchase price - whichever is lower
- Proof of income which could include earned income, pension, investment or rental income
- Maximum 35 years for loans up to 60% and maximum 30 years for loans up to 80%
- Currency is to be paid in Swiss francs only
- Applicants must not exceed the age of 65
