Loan Insurance Complaint »

If you have ever taken out a loan, credit card or mortgage, you may well have been sold unfair loan insurance. Unfair loan insurance is a missold payment protection insurance policy, and if you had or have one, you could be owed thousands of pounds in compensation.

In theory, payment protection insurance sounds good, because it an assurance that your monthly repayments will be covered should you run into financial difficulties. But in practice, many people are missold PPI; e.g. led to believe they have to take it out to get the loan, or are not made aware of certain clauses and later find their policy is invalid.

There are many grounds on which you could have been missold PPI - our Unfair Payment Protection Insurance page can help you discover if you have been a victim of unfair loan insurance and if you have a case for compensation. If you have been sold unfair loan insurance, and if you have been refused a claim, you are not alone. Research from the Citizens Advice Bureau reveals:

  • There are 20 million PPI polices in force
  • PPI polices bring in around £5 billion for insurers
  • 85% of people who have claimed on their policies have been refused
