ISAs are a good way of saving because they provide investors with tax efficient investment returns. There are two main types – Cash and Stocks and Shares. With a Stocks and Shares ISA, you can invest up to £7,200, with a Cash ISA, you can invest up to £3,600 per tax year.

The range of Yorkshire Building Society ISAs includes:

  • ISA Plus: A normal Cash ISA that allows tax free savings of up to £3,600 per tax year.
  • 30 day notice ISA: Good if you want to avoid the temptation of dipping into your savings, as you have to give 30 days notice if you want to take any money out of the account.
  • e-ISA: Gives you complete control of and 24 hour online access to your tax-free Cash ISA.
  • Fixed Rate Anniversary ISA: Offers a fixed rate of interest over a fixed term, tax-free so you know exactly how much your money will earn.
  • TESSA-only ISA transfers: the Yorkshire Building Society also allows you to transfer TESSA-only ISAs from other providers onto a rollover or variable rate ISA account.

Please bear in mind that:
Investment ISAs are designed as medium to long term investments, for example at least five years.
The value of your investment and the level of any income received from it can fall as well as rise and is not guaranteed and you may not get back the amount of your original investment.
The tax efficiency of ISAs is based on current tax law and there is no guarantee that tax rules will stay the same in the future.
If you choose an index-tracking trust which invests overseas, exchange rate variations may cause the value of your investment to increase or decrease.
If you unsure what Investment ISA plan is  right for you speak to an independent investment adviser.
