OFT advises internet shoppers of their rights

12 December 2003
The Office of Fair Trading has issues advice to consumers on using the Internet for Christmas shopping.

Advice highlights the right to a cooling off period of seven days following receipt of the good. This allows purchases to be cancelled for any reasons. There is also advice on claiming back money when a credit card is used fraudulently.

Further advice reminds customers that delivery should be expected within 30 days if not otherwise stated, and that all normal consumer protections and rights exist for Internet shoppers.
