Online services can be accessed by plugging a memory stick into the USB port of a PC or laptop computer.

The service is available to all O2 customers and offers 3GB of included UK data usage on the O2 network and unlimited Wi-Fi every month through the 7,500 hotspots provided by its partner The Cloud in the UK. Customers will be given round-the-clock support from a UK call centre.

The company launched the 02 Broadband service last October and claims that 90 per cent of its customers would recommend the service to family and friends.

Its Mobile Broadband aims to offer customers a “complete set of complementary services” and is available from £20 a month.

“Getting the customer experience right is crucial. We are confident our broadband services complete a great communication experience for our customers however they want to connect to the internet, whether that be at home, on their mobile phone or laptop,” says marketing director, O2 UK, Sally Cowdry.

“Our O2 Mobile Broadband product exclusively allows O2 customers to access the internet wherever and whenever they want with clear and predictable pricing.”

Customers can choose to take out an 18-month contract for £20 a month with a USB modem included free of charge, or £20 a month for a rolling one-month package plus the one-off cost of the USB Modem at £119.99.

Customers can also search for new Wi-Fi hotspots using the O2 Connection Managers Hotspot Directory, which is updated regularly.

The entireO2 networkwill offer a standard speed of up to 1.8 Mb per second, and from June, the company will start increasing this to up to 3.6 Mb per second.
