Festival goers: Don’t forget your insurance, warns Allianz

03 July 2007
While music lovers pack their rucksacks and head off to the festivals this summer, they may not be thinking about the value of the things they’re taking and should remember to pack insurance, says Allianz.

Many festival goers assume that their belongings will be automatically covered by their household insurance, but this might not be the case and they could end up out of pocket if something is lost or stolen.

Allianz recommends buying specialist insurance protection at the point of purchase for things such as jewellery, musical instruments, and electronic gadgets.

Andrew Cackett, strategic marketing manager for Allianz Schemes said: “Retailers can show their customers that they understand their wider needs by offering them appropriate insurance at point of sale.”

Checking your home contents insurance summary document and ensuring that you get adequate protection can also give you the cover you need for your possessions outside of the home, such as tents, clothes, mobile phones and other belongings.
